As a society, we are in the midst of an important, fundamental change in the way people of different genders relate to each other. The coming years will result in a more just, creative, and connected society. However, in the midst of this positive change, many men are struggling. Will Harper in his article, Men: How To Not Get Triggered By Conversations About Gender, highlights the importance of finding a way to help men live into masculinity that is both authentic to who they (men) are and inclusive of the needs and desires of others.
No one needs reminding that 2020 is an election year with enormous stakes; we all have eyes and ears. But as we prepare to ramp up for the final push of this election cycle, perhaps it would be wise to take a step back from scrutinizing the individual candidates and give some thought to the enduring qualities we seek in a leader. In a survey by Center for Creative Leadership which examined the main challenges of nearly 300 first-time managers, almost two thirds cited the transition from friend to boss as their biggest hurdle.
