    The pandemic-led crisis resulted in a great deal of uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. With little to no experience in handling such a massive disruption, many leaders failed to rise to the challenges posed by the pandemic. However, organizations that took a collaborative leadership approach found it easier to adapt flexibly to changing circumstances.

    Collaborative leadership can’t happen when the cards are hidden. Especially in times of crisis, there may be tension, disagreements, and conflicts. While we may like to think of ourselves as playing nice in the sandbox with others, it takes intention and practice to lead by not only creating our own vision, but also incorporating others’ points of view. Diverse voices with unique perspectives, challenging each other with mutual respect is what makes collaborative leadership a success.
