As we approach a new decade it’s time to think about leadership trends for the next era, and what the biggest drivers of business over the next 10 years will be. Below are a few tenets of leadership that I believe that these leadership principles can be applicable to all organizations.
Today’s business environment has gone through radical change over the last few years. Digital transformation has dramatically altered the way global organizations manage employees requiring leaders to forge a new path forward.
Forward-looking managers know that to be a coach is an important element in managing high-performance teams. If managers do not become skilled at coaching their team members, it is unlikely that they will be able to achieve sustainable long-term positive results for the companies they work for.
Think about today’s business organizations. The demands keep growing: People have to do more, perform better, and these demands only keep escalating. And for good reasons: competition is global, and it’s fierce. No doubt you are vigilant but clever competitors can still disrupt your business.
As a leader, you can’t expect quality work and dedication from team members unless there is a collective sense of respect amongst the team. Many leaders struggle to earn genuine respect from team members because they try to obtain rather than earn respect. These leaders compromise productivity, morale, and retention.
