Ulrich, who was last week voted HR Magazine’s “Top Thinker of the Last Decade”, recently set out the six key principles he believes will help HR add more value. It was the mid-70s when the concept of a paperless office was born. At the time, computers were just beginning to replace typewriters in the office, and the idea of doing away with paper was nothing more than a far-fetched dream. Now, with a computer at every desk, the paperless office has become an obtainable reality, to the point where forward-thinkers wonder why we use paper at all.
