A lot changed over 2020. Many businesses took the virtual route as employees had to work remotely because of the Covid-19 pandemic. This solved the issue initially in terms of business continuity and employee wellness. However, as months passed it also brought with it its own share of compliance issues. 

Today, employees who used to work from an office are working from various parts of a state or country. The trouble is when employees are working from an office, you need to comply only with the rules and regulations of the state your office is located in, however, when employees are working from homes or other remote locations, you need to be now in compliance with the rules and regulations of those remote locations as well. 

There is a lot to be taken into consideration. Each and every employees’ wage, compensation, income tax, etc. should adhere to local, state and federal law, irrespective of where your office is located in. It can be quite tedious.
