Recently, three separate hospitals announced their merger. They planned to integrate into one larger metro hospital in a new space, which would serve several boroughs of a large North American city. There were lots of good reasons for the change. Combining these three smaller hospitals would strengthen the new hospital’s overall reputation, aid in recruiting top doctors and research grants, enable the purchasing of new equipment, provide more space, and save money through economies of scale.
