With most of us working from home in quarantine and isolation, the line between work and life can easily be blurred. While wearing multiple hats to juggle between parenting to running errands to household chores to managing career, we mostly forget to take care of our physical and mental health.

This month’s Employee Benefits & Wellness Excellence, with a special focus on ‘Work-life Balance’, shares important tips to achieve work-life balance and how organizations can help employees achieve it.

In what seemed like the blink of an eye, companies around the world transitioned to fully-virtual setups to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, leaving employees grappling with a new reality of work-life balance. Kevin Corliss, in his article, PTO During COVID-19: A Benefit Crucial For Employee Wellness, talks about how companies can foster a culture that encourages different types of time away from work and ensure that employees use this benefit during the pandemic.

Juggling career, family, and social life can be challenging for workers and employers alike. There are so many demands from every facet of your life. And if you want to give everything 100%, it might seem inevitable that something will suffer. To find a happy harmony between work and life, read Nicole Roder’s article, How To Achieve Work-Life Balance.

Did you know that, according to a survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation, 45% of Americans say the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected their mental health? Additional surveys have found more than half of Americans now meet the criteria for a mental health disorder, primarily anxiety and depression. As employees return to work, employers will increasingly find themselves in a position to help address these challenges. Read Sarah Borish’s article, How To Address The Mental Health And Well-Being Of Employees Returning To The Workplace, for more insights into this topic.

Also read, exclusive interviews with Sat Sindhar, Managing Director, People HR and Alex Kinnebrew, CMO and Head of Growth Strategy, Waggl, where they talk about managing remote teams and achieving work-life balance.

Apart from these articles, we also have a few other informative articles that focus on various strategies and insights to help you build a healthy and happy workplace.

We hope you will enjoy reading all the articles and please don't forget to send us your valuable feedback!
