Trend #1: Interviews Will Prioritize Accessibility and Flexibility

In 2020, the world adapted to the “new normal” of remote work and flexibility overnight and the ways that people look and interview for jobs have followed suit.

In 2021, the job-seeking process will become much more accessible as recruiters implement processes that focus on meeting candidates where they are. This means allowing for remote interviewing to take place, rolling out standardized assessments to mitigate bias and opening up the channels of communication by turning to chatbots and text as a way to engage with candidates throughout the hiring process.

Trend #2: HR Tech Will Play a Key Role in Defining Return to Work

As CHROs and their teams strategize how to best support new and existing employees in 2021, HR Tech will play a key role as office reopenings are considered. From enhancing the employee experience to driving employee engagement, HR leaders will leverage technology to better understand and support employees, expand access to a more diverse pool of global talent and help leverage technology to support the reopening of offices.

Trend #3: The Employee Experience Will Get a Redesign

Retention will become a bigger challenge to manage, now that the workforce has greater access to roles across the globe. In 2021, we’ll see a total reimagining of the employee experience. This redesign will include adapting onboarding experiences to a hybrid work model by creating interactions that engage and elevate employees no matter their location, reworking how the employee experience is measured and ensuring that company policies are flexible enough for employees to leverage the resources that are available to them. There will also be increased emphasis on developing managers and leaders to provide support to a new, geographically dispersed workforce.
