The 4 levels of employee engagement
    06-22-2022 / 10:09 am    #1

Only 32% of US employees are engaged at work.

Employee engagement affects just about every important aspect of your organization including profitability, revenue, employee turnover, and many more.

92% of executives believe that engaged employees perform better, boosting the success of their teams and the outcomes of their organizations.

Employee engagement is the strength of the mental & emotional connection between what employees feel toward the work they do, their teams, and their organization. It measures how employees feel about their organization.

Let’s see the 4 levels of employee engagement:

    Highly Engaged
Highly engaged are the brand advocates of the company, who believe in the company’s mission and see themselves as a part of the company’s future.
When employees feel connected to their teams, love their jobs, and have positive feelings about your organization, they're going to stay for long, motivate others, and will put in extra effort to help the organization succeed.

    Moderately Engaged
Moderately engaged employees see their organization in a moderately favorable light. Even if employees have a good day at work, they are unlikely to ask for new responsibilities and may underperform too.

    Somewhat Disengaged
Barely engaged employees feel indifferent toward their place of employment. They usually lack motivation for their current position and will only do as much as they can to get by—sometimes less. They may be researching other jobs.

    Disengaged
Disengaged employees cost the US economy a staggering $350 billion each year.
They can be disruptive to the workplace and can undermine company culture. It is important to take appropriate measures to tackle such employees as they will impact the productivity of all the employees around them.
They are very far from the mission, goals, and future of the organization. They lack the commitment to their position and responsibilities.

Certainly, here are the four levels of employee engagement in a more concise format:

    1. Engaged Employees: Highly committed, enthusiastic, and emotionally connected to the organization's mission and values.

    2. Not Engaged Employees: Meet basic job requirements but lack enthusiasm and commitment.

    3. Disengaged Employees: Unhappy, uninterested, and disconnected from work and colleagues.

    4. Actively Disengaged Employees: Actively undermine colleagues and the organization, displaying open dissatisfaction.

Organizations aim to move employees from lower engagement levels to higher ones through various strategies.
