    Question about medical issues

I am new to the HR profession. I lucked upon a position and have fallen in love with it. However, I am learning as I go and I know I have a LOT to learn. My boss recently came to me and asked me to do some research. We have an employee who has a medical condition and my boss is afraid that we may have to let her go if, at some point, she is unable to perform her job, even with adequate accomodations. We want to make sure we are legal and approach it properly if and when that situation arrises. We don't want to lose her, She is a great employee and we want her here as long as possible. However, if it gets to that point, what do I, as HR, need to know or do to make sure that it is handled legally and properly?

Make sure you follow the ADA guidelines to start.

    Hopefully this helps.
