Maternity leave can be availed after baby is born?

One of my colleague is pregnant and she is planning to take her Annual leave followed by her maternity leave. As per her leave plan, she will be delivering during her annual leave and maternity leave will start after a week's time.

Please advise, as per the law is it ok?
