Looking for tips on establishing a smoking ban on company property

I'm looking for anyone out there to share their experience with establishing a ban on smoking on company property. Are there any federal or state laws that prohibit an employer from doing this? What barriers or obstacles did you encounter trying to establish such a policy? I appreciate any feedback on best practices on getting employee buy-in as well.
