Hello! My name is Paul. I'm a business student finalizing my thesis and I´m working on a side project to help HR teams across the globe to retain good talent on the company swapping people . I started digging as my sister works on HR and she mentioned how difficult is to retain people within the organizations.
Just created a google form with some questions to understand better how can I help on your actual needs. If you can fill in it would help me massively. :)

Clearly, for employees to safely make a long-term commitment to an organization, the employer will need to give them good reason to stay. We advocate proactive efforts by employers to establish a culture that builds strong relationships with their employees — the kind that speak to a lengthy commitment, and perhaps even a commitment for life.
    “5 R’s” of employee relationships:
    1. Responsibility. Show your employees you trust them by giving them responsibilities that allow them to grow. Encourage them to gain new skills. Provide ample continuing education opportunities. Hire from within wherever possible, and give generous promotions at appropriate times.
    2. Respect. Employees want to know they are respected and appreciated.  As the saying goes, people may readily forget the things that you said, but they will always remember the way you made them feel. Many workplace legends are built around the horrific things weary and stressed-out managers said or did. But if managers make it a priority to show outward respect for employees on a regular basis, it will lead to a strong and enduring workplace culture as well as positive experiences and memories that they will never forget.
    3. Revenue-sharing. Tie a part of your employees’ wages to the company’s performance. This will align their interests with the company’s revenue and profit goals and will serve as an inherent incentive to stay with the company as it grows. By making the fixed cost of payroll inherently more variable under differing business conditions, you can make your company more resilient and agile, while also treating your employees exceptionally well.
    4. Reward. The rewards you give your employees should speak to their emotional needs and should go beyond their monetary compensation. Recognition in front of the company, company and department parties, service projects, lunches with the boss, logo clothing, handwritten notes, etc., can all contribute to the positive culture of the company and can be good morale builders as well.
    5. Relaxation Time. Be generous with time off. Despite the hard economy, provide sufficient time for sick days, family vacations, new babies, etc. Pacing workflow can be highly beneficial to enduring employee relationships. You should expect and even demand high-quality performance, but it is unreasonable to expect a continual level of pressure at 100 percent. Allow employees the chance to catch their breath from one assignment to the next with the help of team-building activities or mini-break periods over the course of the day.

This is a common question for many companies. How do you retain employees?

The first thing to understand is that people don't leave jobs. They leave managers, coworkers and companies. And when a company loses a good employee, it's rarely because the employee quit — it's usually because the manager or coworker was so bad that the employee had no choice but to leave.

So how do you keep your employees happy? A good place to start is by listening to what they say they want from their jobs. What are their goals? What are they looking for in an employer? What do they enjoy doing at work? What makes them feel valued?

Then make sure that these things are being met by providing those things and making sure everyone else in the company understands why what you're doing makes sense and why it's important that you do it.

When someone leaves your company, don't just assume they're unhappy or seeing other opportunities elsewhere in the industry. Rather, ask yourself if there's anything specific that made them unhappy with their job here — did something happen at work or otherwise change their life that impacted their decision to stay on at this company?

There are some more ways by which we can retain HiPo employees:
    • Providing a comfortable working environment.
    • Offering a good salary and benefits package.
    • Offering an opportunity for growth and development.
    • Offering training and other opportunities to learn new skills and improve existing ones.

Retaining employees within a company is essential for maintaining stability and reducing turnover costs.

    1. Competitive Compensation and Benefits:

Ensure that the company offers competitive salaries and benefits to employees. Conduct regular market surveys to keep the compensation packages up to date. Benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and performance-based bonuses can also enhance employee satisfaction.

    2. Career Development Opportunities:

Provide opportunities for growth and advancement within the organization. Encourage employees to set and achieve career goals through training, mentorship, and career planning programs.

    3. Employee Recognition and Appreciation:

Recognize and appreciate employees for their hard work and contributions. Implement an employee recognition program to celebrate achievements and milestones. Small gestures like awards, thank-you notes, and public recognition can go a long way.

    4. Work-Life Balance:

Promote a healthy work-life balance by offering flexible work arrangements, such as remote work or flexible hours. Encourage employees to take their allotted vacation days and maintain reasonable working hours.

    5. Create a Positive Work Environment:

Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Promote diversity and inclusion, encourage open communication, and address workplace issues promptly. A pleasant work environment can boost employee morale.

    6. Employee Engagement and Feedback:

Engage employees by seeking their feedback and involving them in decision-making processes. Regular surveys and feedback mechanisms can help identify concerns and areas for improvement.

    7. Employee Wellness Programs:

Support employee well-being through wellness programs, stress management initiatives, and access to mental health resources. Healthy employees are more likely to stay with the company.

    8. Training and Skill Development:

Invest in ongoing training and development to enhance employee skills and keep them engaged. This can include access to online courses, workshops, and cross-training opportunities.

    9. Clear Career Paths:

Provide employees with a clear understanding of their career progression within the organization. Create well-defined career paths and offer guidance on how to achieve the next level.

    10. Transparent Communication:

Maintain transparent communication with employees about company goals, performance, and strategic direction. Sharing information can foster a sense of belonging and purpose.

    11. Retention Incentives:

Consider offering retention incentives, such as performance bonuses, stock options, or longevity-based rewards, to motivate employees to stay with the company.

    12. Exit Interviews:

Conduct exit interviews to understand why employees are leaving. Use this feedback to make improvements in the company's retention strategies. You can learn more about what we do and how we handle things for our clients, you can visit our website. Remunance

I replied to the survey but here are my thoughts also,

To retain more employees within a company, it's essential to create a workplace where people want to stick around. One key aspect is fostering open communication. When employees feel heard and in the loop about what's happening in the company, they're more likely to stay. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions can help keep everyone on the same page.
Offering competitive compensation and benefits is another big factor. People want to feel like they're being fairly compensated for their work. So, it's important to make sure salary and benefits packages are in line with industry standards and show that the company values its employees.
Providing opportunities for growth and development is also crucial. Employees want to know that they have room to grow and advance in their careers. Offering training programs, mentorship opportunities, and chances for career progression can go a long way in keeping employees engaged and motivated.
Work-life balance is another key consideration. Offering flexible work arrangements and promoting wellness initiatives can help employees manage their personal and professional lives more effectively. When employees feel like their well-being is being taken into account, they're more likely to stay with the company.
Lastly, creating a sense of belonging and inclusivity is vital. Companies should strive to create a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. Celebrating diversity and addressing any instances of discrimination or bias can help foster a positive and supportive work environment.
In short, retaining employees is about creating a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and motivated to do their best work. By focusing on communication, compensation, growth opportunities, work-life balance, and inclusivity, companies can build a loyal and committed workforce that drives success.
