Re: Is it legal to broadcast an email containing the names of the employees out for the day and their reasons?
    Andrea Lacasse
There are so many issues surrounding privacy that everyone should lean on the cautious side.  Clearly when employees are absent that is common knowledge, but divulging the reason why is not and should not be divulged to anyone that is not in a need to know position.  Specifically, sending out an email with personal details surrounding the reason an employee is out is unnecessary and risky.  If someone is out here I notify the supervisor who and why.  The remaining employees are informed but, only that the person is out.
