Pack8 has announced the appointment of Mr. Pankaj Jha as CEO for Pack8 India. With nearly two decades of extensive experience in the logistics and express delivery industry, Mr. Jha brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role. His appointment marks an important moment for the company as it seeks to expand its footprint and reinforce its position as a leader in sustainable transit packaging solutions.
Since its inception, the company has been committed to advancing the transit packaging industry with innovative, reusable, and biodegradable alternatives. In its early days, Pack8 was supported by Oliphans Capital and Ifund, which played a crucial role in accelerating its growth and establishing a strong foundation in the market.
Mr. Jha’s leadership is expected to drive Pack8’s next phase of growth, further strengthening its commitment to sustainability and expanding its market presence across India. Praveen Shinde, Founder of Pack8, expressed confidence in Mr. Jha’s leadership, stating, “Pankaj’s deep industry expertise, combined with his sharp business acumen, makes him the ideal leader to drive Pack8 India forward. I’m excited to see how he will shape the next chapter of our growth journey.”
For the past two years, Mr. Jha has been a driving force behind Pack8’s business development initiatives, serving as Revenue Lead. During this period, he showcased exceptional strategic insight and the ability to deliver results in a competitive landscape. Prior to Pack8, he held significant roles at Ecom Express Limited, Group Concorde, Gati Limited and DTDC Express Limited. His experience spans across business development, customer onboarding, and the design of supply chain systems, making him well-equipped to lead Pack8 India in a rapidly evolving market.
In his new role as CEO, Mr. Jha will oversee the company’s overall operations and spearhead efforts to strengthen Pack8’s market presence. His vision includes expanding manufacturing capabilities, driving innovation in product design, and prioritizing sustainability. By introducing new eco-friendly product lines, he aims to position Pack8 India as a go-to provider for sustainable transit packaging solutions.
The Indian Transit Packaging Sector: Growth, Challenges, and Opportunities:
India’s transit packaging industry is expanding rapidly, fueled by sectors like e-commerce, manufacturing, FMCG, and pharmaceuticals. The e-commerce market alone is projected to hit $325 billion by 2030, growing at a 21% CAGR, driving demand for secure and efficient packaging solutions. Additionally, the rise of quick commerce—driven by the need for ultra-fast deliveries in grocery, essentials, and daily-use products—is further accelerating the demand for innovative and sustainable packaging. With quick commerce players focusing on speed and efficiency, there is an increasing need for durable, lightweight, and eco-friendly packaging that ensures product safety while minimizing waste.
At the same time, sustainability is becoming a key focus across industries. The global sustainable packaging market is expected to reach $456.04 billion by 2030, growing at a 7.67% CAGR, as businesses respond to stricter regulations on single-use plastics and rising consumer awareness. With quick commerce relying heavily on packaging for last-mile deliveries, the sector presents a significant opportunity for the adoption of biodegradable and recyclable solutions, driving the next phase of growth in India’s transit packaging industry.
A Strategic Vision for Pack8 India:
Under Mr. Jha’s leadership, Pack8 India is set to use these industry trends to its advantage. His deep understanding of business dynamics, coupled with a forward-thinking approach, will enable the company to navigate challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The strategic priorities for Pack8 India include scaling operations, expanding into untapped markets, and fostering partnerships that align with its commitment to sustainability.
Pack8’s success isn’t just rooted in its domestic presence but also in its
global expansion strategy
. Since entering international markets in 2022, including the UK and upcoming UAE operations, the company has demonstrated how sustainable packaging can be a competitive differentiator worldwide. Its
60% market share in the beauty and personal care wrapping segment
speaks to its dominance in a sector that demands high-quality, sustainable transit solutions. By controlling the full product lifecycle from design to delivery, Pack8 ensures that its packaging solutions reduce costs while improving durability—an essential factor for enterprises looking to optimize supply chain efficiencies.
As Pack8 India begins this new chapter, the company’s focus remains clear to deliver high-quality, eco-friendly transit packaging solutions that cater to the needs of a diverse range of industries. Mr. Jha’s appointment as CEO reinforces Pack8’s dedication to growth and innovation while staying rooted in its mission to drive sustainable change within the sector.
