    Consumers Are Losing Faith in Digital Platforms: Here’s Why...

    A new investigation exposes how Match Group, the company behind over a dozen dating apps, has long been aware of abusive users on its platforms yet continues to keep millions in the dark. At the same time, a new national survey reveals the full extent of the trust crisis in online platforms—consumers overwhelmingly feel unprotected.

    Key findings from the survey, which was commissioned by Trua and conducted by Talker Research, surveying 2,000 American adults:
    • 82% of Americans lack confidence that service providers on digital platforms (rideshare, home services, dating, and job platforms) are properly vetted.
    • 60% would pay extra for enhanced background checks.
    • 87% say platforms fail to communicate how their personal data is used and safeguarded.
    • 75% fear bots pretending to be real users.

    Trua’s survey findings underscore the growing demand for real transparency and better safeguards in digital marketplaces.
