Hexagon Capability Center India (HCCI), the single largest R&D hub of the technology major Hexagon AB, today signed an MoU with BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering to collaboratively prepare students for the evolving industry needs.
The engagement will include offering internships, mentorship programs, exposure to state-of-the-art technologies along with software engineering practices, and possible employment offers. Students will be able to participate in paid projects on industry-specific use cases.
Further, HCCI will help BVRIT curate its curriculum concerning Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ML. The plan also includes providing exposure to collaborative technology-focused events and Hackathons.
The initiative is the fifth shared university project for HCCI since 2015. HCCI is proud to be able to equip the future talent pool with their sponsored labs for GNSS, Advance analysis, 3D technology and Metrology. The labs provide hands-on experience in the latest technologies and engineering platforms to help increase the employability of students.
In 2020, HCCI also signed an MoU with the Government of Telangana to contribute towards the government's commitment to sustain and grow the AI knowledge base in the city and state. Their institute, HexArt, an AI Community Center, has provided 2,500+ AI certifications to students from schools and engineering colleges so far after negating them in a detailed learning and projects steup.

At the event, Burkhard, The CTO of Hexagon AB, further emphasized that "Our future generation and talent pool must be familiar with the technologies of the future, say Artificial Intelligence, cloud technologies, and so on, and stay relevant to the modern world. Hexagon is happy to work closely with the student community to create an innovation landscape with opportunities to innovate and work on global technologies."
Mr. KV Vishnu Raju, Chairman of Sri Vishnu Educational Society, mentioned, "Industry collaboration for academics, research, and student exposure is an essential pillar of BVRIT. This collaboration with Hexagon will help us give our students the perfect blend of practical learning opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies with Industry use cases from Engineering and R&D. It will also provide our faculty with collaborative participation with Hexagon.
Mr. Aditya Vissam, Secretary of Sri Vishnu Educational Society, further added that the "collaboration with Hexagon would help us generate a workforce that is not only industry-ready but has an in-depth understanding of Industry requirements."
