Since the start of the pandemic, employees and employers value high-quality space over square footage. As many businesses work to entice their staff back into the office they are looking at improving features within the workplace that supports health and wellness as a top priority.  

A study done by Instant Offices revealed exactly what is important to employees as they transition back into office. This ranges from flexible working spaces to technology to assist in their day-to-day to sustainable efforts their company is taking.  

Key findings:  
?70% of all participants found that availability of outside space and natural light were needed to improve wellness within the workplace.  

?Nearly half of participants found ergonomic furniture to be an important amenity to improving overall wellness. 
 
?‍?59% of participants found that relaxation or non-work-related spaces were integral amenities needed to improve overall wellness within the workplace.  

?The second most popular amenity needed to improve wellness was adjustable temperature.  

?Improvements to air quality are key drivers of wellness within the workspace. Both the US and APAC found these significant amenities required to improve overall wellness.  

By 2025, it is predicted that there will be 68,000 flexi-workspaces globally.? 
Covid-19 has highlighted the crucial impact of occupant wellbeing on how to effectively workplaces function. When redesigning office space, operators need to support the physical and mental wellbeing of their occupants in line with workspace strategies including improved air quality, touchless controls and additional cleaning.
