    API Integrations Advance the Benefit Experience for Large and Medium-sized Businesses


    For many HR practitioners, one of the more tedious parts of their job can be the administration process - from entering and re-entering new hire information and employee updates, to benefits enrollment. There is a tremendous amount of repetitive work that happens behind the scenes. Usually, this involves reading carefully through the carrier’s information, then entering that information into the company’s HCM system. It’s a laborious process prone to errors. Inaccuracies could lead to problems down the line, for example, when an employee files a claim for coverage they don’t have. 
    As the world continues toward an increasingly digital environment, both employees and employers come to expect the same quick responses they receive from other businesses, like online retailers. In addition, carrier partners that use EOI APIs tend to report a higher completion rate among employees completing digital forms with an instant coverage decision through the carrier's automated medical underwriting. 

    Real-time Integration

    ADP's integration with top benefit carriers modernizes data exchange for plan setup, enrollment, and billing. HR and finance teams save time, by eliminating the extra hours often needed to manually enter and keep benefit plan information up to date. For example, without API integration, when an employee has a benefit-changing event after open enrollment has closed, practitioners have had to “hold” onto the information until the new plan year information was processed. Now benefits administrators and employees can add changes at any time. And without the need to enter information across multiple systems, organizations can significantly reduce the risk of a human data entry error.
