    [Embargo] Spora Health Launches BIPOC Employee Benefit Program to Reduce Disparities


    Employees of color have less access to physical and mental health care coverage compared to their white peers, various studies show. Employers can now take action to help reduce this gap.

    Spora Health is launching a specialized health benefit program that is designed to meet the needs of the diverse workforce by connecting employees of color with culturally-competent primary care providers that are trained to understand their unique healthcare needs and provide high-quality care. Does it work? Well, Spora Health providers have received an average Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 85 from patients, as compared to the industry average of -1.2.

    This program is aimed to reduce health disparities among people of color as current employer health plan offerings are not currently meeting their needs, which unfortunately can lead to higher long-term costs, lower employee satisfaction, lower productivity, and a higher risk of these employees developing chronic conditions.
