Employee engagement specialist consultancy, scarlettabbott, has today announced the launch of, ‘Even Better If’, a new book for business leaders focused on the power of positive change and leadership development.
Co-written by Rachel Thornton, scarlettabbott’s founder and co-director; Lindsay Kohler, lead behavioural scientist at scarlettabbott; and Charlie Sampson, owner of Sampson Coaching, ‘Even Better If’ brings practical insight to business leaders across all sectors.
With nearly fifty years of business experience between the three authors, the book will offer advice on topics ranging from purpose, diversity & inclusion and change management, to psychological safety, financial wellbeing and leadership coaching and development.
The book is split into three sections. Better Businesses, Better Leaders and Better Selves.
Better Businesses explores the behavioural science behind purpose, change and diversity & inclusion. Better Leaders is built around the GOD principle, growth, optimism and disruption and talks readers through why the role of a leader is to continually drive and adapt their business to meet the demands of customers. The third and final section, Better Selves, focuses on how business leaders can help employees to be healthier, safer and more financially sound.
Featuring real-life stories, experiences and perspectives from leaders in the field at companies such as HPE, Facebook, Ernst & Young, BT, Aviva, Vodafone, Elsevier, Deloitte and more. The book is jam-packed with clear ideas, suggestions, proprietary thinking and exercises.
Discussing the book’s launch, Rachel Thornton, scarlettabbott’s founder and co-director said:
“We are really excited to be launching ‘Even Better If’, a project that we’ve been working on since December 2019. Our coaching-style encourages you to ask ‘what could I be even better at, if I just did something differently? Broken down into three sections, this book gives you that “if;” - the secret sauce that if you did even one of each of these things differently, you’d be even better.
“It’s not about perfection - that doesn’t exist - it’s about incremental improvements, getting and being even better. The book also explores the behavioural science behind traditional internal communication to enable readers to develop a healthier, safer, and more financially sound business.”
Lindsay Kohler, lead behavioural scientist at scarlettabbott continued:
“We’re all incredibly excited about the launch of ‘Even Better If’ and if you’re responsible for improving and moving your business forward toward its goals, this is the book for you. There’s often a disconnect between academia and change consultants - and practical things those in the private sector can actually use. We hope this book will act as a useful guide that can live on people’s desks and be referred to on a daily basis.”
Charlie Sampson, owner of Sampson Coaching said:
“There really is nothing else like ‘Even Better If’ and I believe by combining our experience we’re bringing a completely new perspective to leadership and business performance. The book is packed with models, exercises, and challenging yet pragmatic ideas, and we hope it leads to some positive change among individuals and organisations of all sizes.”
All of scarlettabbott’s work is underpinned by the disciplines of behavioural science, digital transformation, diversity and inclusion, and creative storytelling.
