Timmins, September 30, 2021 – On the occasion of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, EACOM Timber Corporation announces a donation of $15,000 to Orange Shirt Society.
“For the last two years, EACOM has been a proud participant of Orange Shirt Day, helping to raise awareness on the history of the residential school system and its impact on Indigenous communities, as well as buying orange t-shirts for our employees,” said Kevin Edgson, President and CEO of EACOM. “This year, we wanted to enhance our support by making a donation directly to the cause.”
Active in responsible stewardship of public forests in Ontario and Quebec, EACOM has taken a proactive approach to building meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with the communities whose traditional territories it operates within. The company recently began the process of getting a certification with the Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) standard - a program by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB).
EACOM encourages all of its employees and partners to participate in today’s awareness events.
