NEW YORK—July 27, 2021
—O’Melveny again achieved outstanding recognition today in the 2022 Vault Law Firm Associate Survey, claiming the #2 spot in Vault’s most important Quality of Life rankings: “Best Law Firms To Work For,” “Overall Diversity,” and “Best Summer Associate Program.”
With these results, O’Melveny has now earned a Top 5 ranking in each of these Vault categories for six consecutive years—and for five straight years, the firm has achieved a Top 3 “Best Law Firms To Work For” ranking.
“I am so proud of our continued Vault success. It is a clear reflection of our steadfast commitment to upholding our core values of excellence, leadership, and citizenship,” said O’Melveny chair Bradley J. Butwin. “Our most recent results are especially significant, showcasing our efforts to provide exceptional client service and care for the well-being of our people, all while confronting the past year’s extraordinary challenges.”
O’Melveny also earned #2 scores in 11 sub-categories, including Firm Culture, Satisfaction, Quality of Work, Associate/Partner Relations, and Career Outlook.
“Since these results are driven by associate surveys, it is gratifying to see how highly our associates rate the firm in these key areas. We are determined to ensure that our associates and counsel have the best possible experience,” Butwin added.
The 2022 Vault rankings are the latest acknowledgment of O’Melveny’s distinctive culture. In Vault’s previous 2020 and 2021 surveys, O’Melveny ranked #1 in each of the “trifecta” categories of “Best Law Firms To Work For,” “Overall Diversity,” and “Best Summer Associate Program.”
More than 20,000 associates from over 180 law firms participated in Vault’s 2022 Law Firm Associate Survey. The survey asked associates to rate their own firms—on a scale of 1 to 10—in a variety of areas. Junior associates who participated in their firms’ summer programs were also invited to rate their experiences as summer associates.
A sampling of comments from O’Melveny attorneys who responded to the survey can be found on the firm’s Vault.com profile.
For more than 20 years, Vault’s influential rankings, ratings, and reviews of thousands of top employers and hundreds of internship programs have been a key source of information for applicants. Vault’s rankings and ratings are regularly featured and cited by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, Fortune, Money, and numerous other news outlets.
