A dedicated COVID-19 pulse check is being offered free of charge by HR technology experts, Peachy Mondays to help employers quickly establish which employees are most in need of support during the pandemic lockdown.
The rapid diagnostic ‘employee survey’ tool produces clear, actionable, real-time results, and is already supporting key workers, home workers and furloughed staff across a wide range of sectors including Telecoms, Financial Services and Social Care.
The online survey covers three main areas of importance: employee wellbeing; enablement (how well an employee can do their work from home or other place); and communication needs. Each participating company has their own bespoke results, but some key themes show:
1)
Employees are struggling with the new work-life balance while others are embracing the opportunity of working from home. Initial findings suggest a demand for more flexible working in the future.
2)
Employees are in need of support with wellbeing. New ways of working around COVID-19 and self-isolation is taking a toll on wellbeing, be it mental, physical and/or social.
3)
Employee Engagement is more important than ever. Results demonstrate that employees appreciate employers who are going the extra mile to stay connected and support them.
About the COVID-19 Pulse Check
The
Peachy Mondays COVID-19 Employee Pulse Check is being offered as a free tool to use via the company’s innovative platform, and is providing rapid insights to the organisations who have already adopted it. Quick to set up, the free off-the-shelf version can be ready within an hour of the initial phone call to Peachy Mondays. Real time reports embed Targeted Anonymous Dialogue™, a unique feature that enables two-way anonymous communication with employees to uncover deep insight at scale.
Peachy Mondays co-founder, James Anderson says: “We help organisations get from feedback to action in real time, and that’s never been more important. The pandemic has created a sense of urgency within organisations to rapidly understand how their people are coping with the lockdown and what they can do to help.
“Employers have a duty of care to their employees, so they need something fast and easy-to-use to understand the impact the lockdown is having on key issues like mental health and work-life balance. In designing our COVID-19 Employee Pulse Check, we've focussed hard on delivering real time insights with the minimum time investment from busy HR and Internal Comms teams, and we want to help as many people as possible, so we decided to make it available for free.
Not only is that helping employers understand the sentiments of their employees quickly, it is having a positive effect on employees, who know they are being listened to, which in turn reflects well on the organisations.”
The survey questions are focused on wellbeing and communication, but also provide insight on compliance and enablement whilst employees are working differently to normal. Some questions are conditional on a previous question to ensure the questions are relevant to the respondent which is especially important when distinguishing between those that are working from home, in the field, are furloughed or shielding.
The anonymity of the pulse check means that employees and other workers can share their concerns and worries in confidence. Targeted Anonymous Dialogue™ allows employees to raise potentially sensitive concerns about their own wellbeing (for example), as well as giving employers a deeper understanding of what is going on with their people – their most valuable asset – so that they can take appropriate action.
Says James: “We advocate employee listening as a crucial part of any organisation’s employee engagement strategy and the current crisis is certainly amplifying that need.
“When we come out the other side, the organisations that put their people before economics will be stronger for it in the long-term.”
COVID-19 Pulse Check in Action
Social housing and care provider
Pobl has just started its first Pulse Check to its 2,700-strong workforce. Pobl manage over 16,000 homes and provide care or support to around 10,000 people across Wales and the south west.
Gaynor Morris, Executive Director of Organisational Development had been investigating employee engagement software when COVID-19 hit. The Pobl Executive Team quickly got behind the initiative and, after just three days, were in a position to execute a tailored version of the COVID-19 Pulse Check.
Gaynor said “When I first saw Peachy Mondays, I was immediately taken with the product and the real time anonymity functionality, and I’ve been enormously impressed by the team. They’ve been responsive, creative, informed and have picked up the nuances of our Operating environment in record time. Peachy Mondays turned everything around in a matter of days. We generally have a good level of communication and feedback within the group, but this Pulse Check is giving us a validated depth of insight which we wouldn’t get in any other way, so we can quickly address any
areas that require focus and energy.”
James Anderson says: “Working with Pobl has been a humbling experience for the Peachy Mondays team. Their frontline staff put themselves in harm’s way on a daily basis, so to see our technology being used to help the organisation take action to support their workforce has had a profound effect on the team.”
Peach Mondays’ Pulse Check is currently being used successfully by several companies nationally and across Europe during the pandemic including Brooks Macdonald, the Scottish SCPA and VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands.
