Kuala Lumpur, March 27, 2020 - As the COVID-19 continues to develop throughout Malaysia,leading online delivery platform, foodpanda has partnered with online insurance partner PolicyStreet, to provide additional coverage for delivery partners.
Fostering an environment of security, safety and transparency, foodpanda has implemented measures and recommendations to keep prioritising their delivery partners' health and well-being.
foodpanda recently announced that they will provide financial support to delivery partners impacted by Covid-19. Under the financial assistance measures rolled out by the company,foodpanda will provide RM1,000 to a delivery partner who tests positive for COVID-19 and RM300 to any delivery partner who is quarantined.
On top of the financial support provided by foodpanda, the company is partnering with Policy Street, a leading insurance technology company which is an approved Financial Adviser by Bank Negara Malaysia to provide riders with additional financial support totalling to approximately RM200,000. This means that any delivery partner who tests positive for the virus will receive an additional RM1,000 from this initiative. And, should anything untoward happen,a death benefit of RM5,000 will also be paid out to the next of kin upon the death of a delivery partner from Covid-19 Shubham Saran, Head of Logistics, foodpanda Malaysia explains “We are grateful to have our Insurance partners, Policy Street, to join efforts in ensuring that the welfare of our frontliners are protected.
