    ADP Unveils the five major pillars for the future of the Workplace


    Though the workplace has been a constant and lasting institution, the reality is it has become extremely fluid, shifting with each technological innovation and cultural development.  This year at HR Technology Conference & Expo, ADP unveiled the five major pillars for the future of the workplace – areas that have become areas of focus for businesses as they evolve to fit expectations of the modernized workplace. Those pillars are:

    Dynamic teams

    According to a recent ADP Research Institute Global Engagement Study, nearly all work is teamwork. Despite the prevalence of teams in the workplace, today’s HCM solutions fail to capture how organizations conduct work.  By limiting businesses to traditional relational databases that model formal hierarchies and exist only on the organizational charts, some legacy solutions can hinder businesses from understanding and adapting to the modern flow of work.

    Extreme Personalization

    Today’s enterprise software is still delivered as a one-size-fits-all monolith of bulky modules.  Yet the consumerization of technology has spread to the workplace and employees.  It’s evident that managers both want and need HR tools that are people-centric.  By allowing organizations to create more personalized experiences (i.e., by location, function or team), they will be able to work the way they want– with the tools they want – more efficiently.

    Global Compliance

    The workforce is becoming more global as labor markets tighten and regulations become increasingly more complex.  To combat this, while teams are increasingly working from locations around the world, companies must be able to support them in a compliant way without creating an unnecessary administrative burden.

    AI Everywhere

    Innovation should be present throughout the entire HCM life cycle—making all interactions intelligent and actionable.  AI-driven insights are served up in the flow of work when and where executives, managers and team leaders need them to make intelligent decisions to move their businesses forward.  As we approach 2020, the reliability of data will be critical to enable timely, data-driven insights that power decisions.

    Adaptable Tech Platforms

    Increasingly, segments of the workforce are looking for true customization and on-demand adaptability in all facets of their lives – and the workplace is no exception.  At the core of this technological movement is a simple, easy-to-use interface, making it easy for non-technical users to modify an existing app and go from building to deployment seamlessly. 

    These pillars inspired ADP’s latest round of product development, with a variety of new solutions set to hit the market over the next year.
