The Josh Bersin Academy Announces New Program, “HR in the Age of AI”
    Press Releases

Five-part Program Provides Comprehensive Overview for HR Professionals in All Functional Areas; Culminates with Actionable Next Steps

OAKLAND, CALIF. (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 18, 2019
The Josh Bersin Academy, the first global development academy for HR and talent professionals, announced today its newest program, “HR in the Age of AI.” The program was created by the Josh Bersin Academy and a variety of IBM subject matter experts who collaborated with the Academy’s content team to inform and guide the program.

“HR in the Age of AI” is designed to give HR professionals in all functional areas a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence, its potential impact on enterprise technologies and the skills required for a digitized workforce.

The program is comprised of five parts: Augmented Intelligence, The Cognitive Enterprise, HR Transformation, The Skills Revolution, and Ethical AI.

A complimentary webinar previewing the program, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time. Preceding the program overview, Josh Bersin will discuss his latest research on AI and its impact on HR. Amy Wright, managing partner, IBM Talent & Transformation, will also talk about how AI has facilitated the evolution of HR throughout IBM. Click here to register.

“AI has the potential to be the biggest disruptor for HR in the last three decades,” said Bersin, independent global analyst and dean of the Josh Bersin Academy. “AI-based technology is already changing the roles and skills required for the modern workforce. HR itself will have to change to support these new ways of working, in addition to assuming major responsibility for the ethical application of AI, related employee policies, and management and security of employee data.
“We chose IBM as a strategic partner for this important topic because of its pioneering work with Watson, its successful track record in helping organizations through digital transformations, and its own dramatic HR evolution – aided in large part through the application of AI-powered technologies and reskilling professionals.”

The program includes detailed explanations of key concepts, digital transformation case studies, and a skills strategy framework, along with video interviews, quizzes, and polls. The program concludes with an exercise in which learners share ideas for applying AI to their own organizations. In addition to the content-rich program, learners have access to a library of associated resources. Examples include a framework for identifying and mitigating potential bias; a video interview with Josh Bersin on assessing and developing skills; and a team challenge based on the work of the Algorithmic Justice League.

“Companies need to foster talent and narrow the skills gap by creating cultures of continuous learning, teaching employees how to be lifelong learners and nurturing a corporate culture that supports it. There is no better organization in an enterprise than HR to lead and shape digital transformation across the workforce,” said Wright.
