    When employer verbally communicates Merit Increase and then....

    I have a friend who was told they were getting a 4% merit increase........
    Two weeks later, was told he would not be receiving an increase at all and that it was a mistake and they had misspoke.
    What does my friend do?
    The company they work for is a great place to work, offering very generous benefits, 401k, Unlimited PTO, ect..ect... 
    A. Go to their bosses boss
    B. Go to HR to discuss
    C. Let it be a mistake and forget about it.
