Varvid and Representative Larsen had a lively discussion about the future of live streaming technology and development of the workforce of tomorrow

Varvid, the connected event and live streaming video production company, welcomed Congressman Rick Larsen (WA-02) to its Bellingham headquarters to discuss workforce development issues and the future of live streaming technology on Wednesday October 24.

“Our industry – online video and streaming content – has seen explosive growth over the last several years,” said Aaron Booker, founder of Varvid. “This has brought with it exciting opportunities but also several challenges, one of which has been finding employees with the right skills. Congressman Larsen brings to this visit a strong interest in advancing small businesses throughout Northwest Washington, and in helping develop a robust workforce. “Connecting young people with skills they need to compete in the workforce is critical to a strong economic foundation,” said Larsen. “Washington State continues to be a leader in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). With increased access to online training, and through apprenticeships, companies like Varvid can help young people learn new skills to access innovative in-demand jobs.”
