Impact of Technology on HR (during Tech HR)
    Erric Ravi
Until a decade ago, Human Resource Management was solely about talent acquisition and providing adequate compensation. It primarily focused on personnel administration and basic labour relation issues. The relationship between the human resource executives and the employees was also limited. Most of the companies followed a rigid approach to engage employees and achieve a target that the company found to be profitable. This ultimately led to a lack of motivation and the zeal to work.

However, this is not the case anymore – modern-day HR practices focus on enriching the overall workplace environment. The approach followed is to make productivity and profitability go hand-in-hand. The present-day HR practices include a multitude of activities, rather than just staffing. It focuses on:
    • Employee satisfaction
    • Setting benchmarks
    • Working on employee feedback
    • Fostering team building spirit

The current scenario where this is implemented is in both SMEs and MNCs. To incorporate the listed practices, the department is fully backed with the latest scalable technology. This helps in recording all the operational details like employee specific benchmarks, targets achieved, and the period when they shall be rewarded and the kind of /what reward they should get.

In most organizations, it has been a complicated affair to choose fitting employee benefits or rewards. The gauging operations are backed by technology like big data, analytics, and automation, which have changed the scenario-???

Big Data gives the HR department a fact-based view of the current workforce by identifying emerging trends so that businesses can adapt.

Predictive analytics allow for better risk-management decisions. For example, they can identify employees who could benefit from additional training or highlight teams that may be struggling and, after that, schedule training programs to benefit them.

Analytics also allow recruiters to assess potential employees based on the information at hand and by basing hiring decisions on facts instead of hunches, they can improve the quality and placement of new hires.

It was when Sodexo had introduced its employee rewarding plans that the functions of human resource management were improved substantially. Sodexo extends its service in the form of meal cards and has established its name amongst various global leaders. The company provides meal passes, restaurant vouchers, mobility passes, leisure passes, book cards, and training vouchers to employees in the corporate sector. Some MNCs use it as a part of their salary, and some use it to reward their employees. The new Sodexo Meal Card offers new-age meal benefits to enable a multitude of benefits. However, the meal card isn’t the only benefit they can avail – there are various other services enabled by Sodexo that are listed as follows:

    Cafeteria Card:
It is an NFC-enabled prepaid card that is used in the office cafeteria. Through this service, employees can enjoy tax-free meal benefits in the food courts within the company campus. These cards can be personalized and are password-protected with a secured pin.
    Premium Pass:
It is a password-protected card that, after activation, can be used at any desired outlet. The Sodexo Premium Pass can be used for transactions at merchant outlets across the country accepting RuPay Cards, including retail stores and online merchants. Two forms of this card can be provided as per the situation at hand, namely Premium Pass – Rewards and Premium Pass – Celebrations.

While Sodexo offers a wide range of services, the reason why digital meal cards surpass the standards of any other company is multi-fold. It gives the organisation the choice of two solutions – firstly, the meal benefits, and secondly, reward benefits. Meal benefits include meal passes, cafeteria cards, etc. The reward card is a general-purpose card, generally used for festive gifting. It offers special discounts, offers, and exclusive deals that make it a must-have for any organisation that wants to facilitate a positive work environment.
