OEConnection LLC (OEC), a leading technology employer in Northeast Ohio, was honored last night by Smart Business and Alliance Solutions Group as a recipient of the 2018 Smart Culture Award. OEC was nominated for the honor by Arthur J Gallagher Company, a company with which OEC has worked for employee benefits plans.

The 2018 Smart Culture Conference, held at the Intercontinental in Cleveland on April 5, recognized organizations that have developed a culture that bolsters productivity, enhances job satisfaction and creates a competitive advantage in the marketplace. OEC was among 20 companies chosen for this distinction.

In the past year, OEC created a “culture committee” comprised of employees who help to generate ideas and execute various activities throughout the year. Additional activities that OEC has offered for numerous years range from health and wellness challenges, to offering a shared urban farming plot on-site, to various opportunities to volunteer with area non-profits — including a dedicated afternoon known as “Community Connection Day” where the entire company donates their time to various local charities.

In addition, OEC recently completed a building expansion with space designed to enhance the overall employee experience, including an extensive workout facility, a comfortable lounge area known as the “Break Pad” which includes pool and foosball tables, and an on-site café, which already offers breakfast and lunch, expanded their offerings to include ice cream, milkshakes and smoothies.
