Employees are the backbone of any organization. Often we read about this in a magazine or tabloid that a CEO of some company has said that the real force behind the company’s success is its workforce. Well it is a fact that employees are the roots of every organization that carry out numerous tasks to yield better results for the company to help it generate better revenue and acquire better customer base. This is the reason there is always a need to provide better workplace for employees to utilize their energy and creativity for the betterment of the company.
But how to do it is a serious question that even the most highly skilled human resource managers find hard to solve completely. But there are many small steps that an organization can take to make their employees productive.
Every Voice Should Be Heard: It is seen that communication gap often lead to a stressed employee. This is very unproductive because employee grievances are one thing that has to be cater to in the most appropriate manner by the human resources personnel by utilizing every possible medium. It is seen that organizations do take this aspect very seriously and have developed many programs and strategy to bring the communication gap to the least point possible. But still many things are unheard and unattended that lead to a distressed employee. This is one thing that must be a priority before proceeding to something else.
Don’t Consider Employees As Machines: It is a fact that globalization has increased work and have made it a compulsion for employees to be the best in their business to yield better result for their organization. But this aspect has somewhat made them machines which is no good looking from humanitarian grounds. So there is a need for organizations to revamp their work culture in such a way that employees remain employees and are not considered machines. Every employee needs some time out from work to spend some quality time that can relax him/her. This is one thing that every organization must focus on and provide their employees the much needed time to break free.
Employees Must Get all the Perks: Though there are incentive and increment plans are in place in every organization but the irony is that they are not revived every year as companies have the tendency of cost-cutting at every level. But this is not good as employees must not be deprived of their basic right. Incentives and perks are a big motivator for an employee to perform better and yield better results for the organization. Beside this employees adore to get recognition in their organization. So the incentives and perk plans must be such that even the employees performing not so good must get some sort of reward to be motivated. This will help the organization in the long run as employees tend to stick to organizations that recognizes them.
The Work Area Must Not Be A Suffocating Chamber: Work places that are open for discussions and have healthy environment tend to have productive employees. This can be achieved when the requirement of employees are met regarding the tools and mediums they need at their desk. For example in a tech office a developer don’t like to use two machines for coding that have separate operating systems so it is better that if a software like Parallels Desktop can be provided that runs both the Mac and Windows on the same machine saving both money and resources of the company. If an employees is provided with what he needs to work, it is sure that he/she will deliver better. Often company deprive employees of some basic tools in the name of cost-cutting which is not good. The work place must feel to an employee as an open space where everything is provided by the organization.
