Types
- Words can be packed with power. Choosing just the right type of words as motivational tools is essential when you work at home and you have to rely on your inner strength to get your job done. So what types of words should you have in the forefront of your mind to pull out as needed to give yourself a little motivation. You might start with words that are goal oriented and that remind you why you must complete your work. Good examples would be "income" and "security." Then you might think about words that remind you why you are choosing to work at home, such as "balance" and "convenience." Finally you should think about words that help you keep your eye on the ball, which is the task at hand, such as "focus, dedicated and inspired."
Considerations
- How should you incorporate the use of your motivational words into your daily work routine? You might consider adding a bulletin board and posting your power words as reminders or you can turn them into a marquee that floats across your computer screen if you have the marquee screen-saver option. Or you might try stringing your power words all together in your mind like a motivational mantra or a little jingle and using it as a self-motivation tool as needed, such as: Income and security are required and balance and convenience are desired, so focus and stay dedicated and inspired.
Theories/Speculation
- Will this help if you're having a very difficult day and you can't seem to get going? Theoretically, if you have selected your words wisely and they are very meaningful to you, they should help, but only if you refer to them. Putting them on a bulletin board or a screen saver but not looking at them won't help. Taking the time to choose motivational words to create a mantra or a jingle won't help if you don't use it as a self-talk tool.
Potential
- What results can be expected when you find the right power words? Hopefully, increased output, less drag on functionality and increased performance. Goals and deadlines just might be reached more quickly and more efficiently. There is power in words, whether they are written, displayed, spoken or just in your thoughts.
Time Frame
- Don't waste another minute. Give some thought to your motivational power words and put them to work for you. Focus on your goals and keep them in sight like a ball player has to focus, think of them as a ball flying high into the air and keep your eye on that ball.
