    Everyone likes to be appreciated once in a while and when we talk about professional appreciation, it can do wonders with your work and productivity. You can always tell your colleagues, coworkers and employees, how much you value their contributions throughout the year.  Such appreciations help employees perform well. 
    Here are fourteen tips that can help you promote happiness on professional front. Keep in mind that every employee has different needs to be appreciated, but for the start, you need to focus on your own self. 
    Appreciate the Work of Your Colleague: Make sure that you praise your coworker and find specific performance area which you liked the most. The praise will emphasize your sincerity and action of time which you would like to see in your employees.
    Always say, Thank you:Remember to say, ‘thank you’ for their dedication and hard work and use the word, ‘please’ also as a part of social courtesy. Such behavior creates a positive and civilized environment at workplace which is valued by all.
    Show Your Affiliation: There are times when employees as a head, raise you on a pedestal, but if you place yourself on their level and share with them your own vulnerability, you will be able to overcome their challenges and help them perform better.
    Talk to Your Co-Workers regardingtheir Interests:Whenever, you get time, ask your coworkers about their family life, hobbies and special moments of their lives. Your interest should be genuine and not an interfering one. You can always show interest by asking questions such as, “How did your child do in exam?” or “How did Ali’s interview go?”
    Offer Flexibility in Time: You should offer flexible timing for holiday’s if organization’s feasibility (policy) allows. Employer can always mark their calendars to balance their time off with their work. Holidays help one relax and perform well in office.
    Personalized Gifts Should be Encouraged: An occasional personalized gift to your colleagues can light up his or her day. It can be a mug, pen or a card to acknowledge his efforts or to celebrate his day.  Also offering a word of sympathy, when your coworker is ill or condolences message while experiencing family death, can help one deal with official matters in calm manner. 
    Appreciation through Bonus Always Works:  There are different kinds of bonuses offered annually, quarterly and along with gift certificates for staff members. Bonus appreciation is also offered on special occasions like Eid, Christmas, etc. strengthen the bond between employee and employer.
    The Food Acknowledgement: Another way to appreciate your employee is through food. Take them out to lunch for a birthday or a special occasion. Select a day like Independence Day, Women’s Day to show your acknowledgement. Go out for brunch with your team that has met its goals and delivered the product in time. 
    Letter of Appreciation: A letter of appreciation to the deserving employees is also another opportunity to value your employee.
    Treat Staff Out: As we mentioned earlier, the food factor always works, similarly one should bring doughnuts, biscuits or cookies, particularly which one can bake or get from bakery and can be eaten with your tea. Even chocolates can do the trick. 
    Employee of the Month Awards:  The employer can celebrate employees’ success by introducing ‘Employee of the Month,’award as it will keep the morale of your employee high.
    Positive Feedback: A positive encouragement sent through an email, a phone or in face to face interaction can motivate their work spirit. 
    Complementary Coffee and Tea goes a long way:  Such gestures can increase productivity at workplace.
    Training Opportunity: When you provide your employees with the opportunity to enhance their abilities, you further develop their expertise in the relevant area.  This will make them appreciated for the knowledge they bring to your workplace.
