West Monroe Partners plans to double its workforce in the Twin Cities over next three years as an effort to address today's growing tech skills gap.
MINNEAPOLIS (PRWEB) AUGUST 29, 2017
West Monroe, a leading business and technology consulting firm, announced today it plans to double the size of its workforce in the Twin Cities over the next three years. Its hiring plans are part of an effort to address today’s growing tech skills gap in business and innovation, as the firm hires professionals with an uncommon blend of deep technological expertise and business acumen.
West Monroe serves dozens of companies in Minnesota and is investing in the area for its wealth of opportunities in healthcare, retail, and private equity. Its projected success in the region will help fuel continued growth for its clients and the firm: West Monroe was found in 2002 with a handful of employees and has grown at a CAGR of 35%. The entire firm is expected to double its workforce nationwide in the next five years. It currently employs nearly 1,000 nationwide. West Monroe opened an office in Minneapolis in 2013, and in just four years has grown to 35 employees.
“Our growth mindset has created dozens of jobs in Minneapolis-St. Paul in just a few years, and will fuel even more than that in the next three years,” said Tom Ewers, Managing Director of West Monroe’s Minneapolis office. “Minneapolis is a critical market for West Monroe Partners in healthcare, consumer, and industrial sectors especially. We continue to be impressed with the talent pool and innovation happening in this market. We are proud to be growing our presence here in Minnesota.”
West Monroe’s people-focused culture and policies ranked West Monroe as one of the #1 best places to work award winners in Minneapolis by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The firm supports employees who desire to transfer from another West Monroe office, including those who wish to transfer to Minneapolis permanently. The growing office is providing new leadership opportunities for up-and-coming professionals who seek to help build and grow the firm’s presence here.
The newly created positions will cover all areas of the consulting business, from operations to project managers to strategists, adding technical, functional, and industry expertise, primarily in the healthcare, life sciences, and financial services industries. In candidates, the firm looks for an “uncommon blend” of deep technical expertise and business acumen, both at the individual and collective level.
Part of the firm’s purpose is developing professionals that strike this uncommon blend into the next generation of leaders.
Through mentorship and learning, West Monroe invests significantly in talent to develop the business skills of technologists, and the technology skills of business professionals. “This investment in talent has been critical to our growth, allowing us to adapt quickly and move faster than most firms,” CEO Kevin McCarty said. “When companies have more business-minded technologists and technology-minded business people, it’s a force multiplier. That is exactly why we are developing this blend within our young leaders today.”
West Monroe is committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work. In Minneapolis, we have supported dozens of local charities through board appointments and monetary contributions, including Habitat for Humanity, Neighborhood Health Source, and youth sports associations.
The firm’s Minneapolis office is located at 123 N. Third St.
