Maria J. Santana is selected for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession

The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Maria J. Santana as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in healthcare. Maria Santana has 40 years of experience in healthcare. She got started in the industry by working in the Pathology department of Memorial Healthcare System. For the past 14 years, she has been Practice Manager at Pathology Consultants of South Broward, LLC, a private practice that provides pathology services for the Memorial Healthcare System.
In her role as Practice Manager, Ms. Santana is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the practice, including overseeing benefits administration, 401K administration, time and attendance/scheduling, and acting as billing liaison. Using the office coordination and business administration skills she has honed throughout her career, she ensures the practice is run in an efficient and productive manner.
Although she noted that keeping up with the many different rules and regulations affecting billing, healthcare, HIPAA, etc., can be challenging, Ms. Santana said, “I find it rewarding knowing I am able to assure the owners and staff always have what they need, when they need it, to perform their duties.” She added, “I look forward to seeing where we can grow and take the company in the next five years.”
