EDsmart Names 2017's Top 10 Most Affordable Accredited Online Colleges
    Steven Nelson
EDsmart.org, a nationally recognized publisher of college resources and rankings, has released the 2017 edition of the most affordable online colleges.

    Lehi, UT, United States - January 23, 2017 /EducationDive/ —

Attending college or university is increasingly and exponentially expensive. It doesn't have to be, though. Many schools are committed to making an undergraduate or graduate degree an affordable option for their students. But these are not just the most affordable colleges and universities; some of these schools are also the best, being regionally, nationally, and globally ranked.

“The schools on our list offer high-quality education at an amazing price with programs for everyone,” said EDsmart’s spokesperson. “The tuition rates at these schools make attending college a possibility or almost anyone. In addition, most of these schools offer additional financial aid by way of scholarships, fellowships, and loans.”

The EDsmart 2017 ranking for the Most Affordable Online Colleges finds Great Basin College in the top spot with a $2,805 tuition. Brigham Young University-Idaho and University of Texas at Permian Basin round out the top three.

The complete alphabetical rankings are as follows:

    American Public University
    Amridge University
    BYU-Idaho
    Chadron State College
    Great Basin College
    Minot State University
    Thomas Edison State University
University of Texas at Permian Basin
    West Texas A&M University
    Western Governors University

University response to EDsmart rankings has been very positive. Sharing the rankings on their websites and via social media has helped schools attract new students and excite existing students and alumni.

The rankings and data were produced for EDsmart, a leading higher education research organization. All evaluated data was gathered from IPEDs, U.S. Dept. of Higher Education, school websites, and other reputable sources.

The rankings have been published at http://www.edsmart.org/cheapest-accredited-online-colleges/
