In 2016, OTJ Architects relocated its headquarters, added a sixth design studio, received a prestigious design award and completed several note-worthy projects in a wide range of workplace categories.
WASHINGTON, DC (PRWEB) JANUARY 25, 2017
OTJ Architects (OTJ), a premier interior architecture firm located in Washington, DC, experienced several significant milestones in the firm’s 26th year in operation.
Headquarters relocation: OTJ and its 80+ employees moved to a new headquarters building at 555 11th Street, NW in Washington, DC. The office was designed internally by OTJ staff members and provides an open work environment focused on collaboration and teamwork.
“Relocating our office was a big endeavor, but one that has really made it easier for us to work together and operate more efficiently,” said Lance Jaccard, OTJ Managing Partner. “I’m excited to see what 2017 has in store for OTJ.”
New studio: OTJ’s growth in recent years has resulted in the need for expansion. An additional design studio, Studio 6, was created in 2016 and is led by Studio Director Travis Herret, AIA. He oversees a staff of architects and designers focused on landlord and tenant broker services.
American Gaming Association (AGA) design award: OTJ was awarded the Honor Award (Gold status) at the IIDA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Design Awards for the design of the American Gaming Association office. AGA was submitted in the “Under 10,000 Square Feet” category. The Honor Award signifies the best project in the category.
Notable projects completed: OTJ’s six studios completed hundreds of projects in 2016 throughout the DC metropolitan area and extending nationwide. Main project types include nonprofits, law firms, government agencies, corporations and tech firms, with several of these projects highlighted below.
.Adobe Systems Incorporated (20,000-square-foot corporation)
.Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP (37,000-square-foot law firm)
.Booz Allen Hamilton Innovation Center (10,000-square-foot tech firm)
.Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (35,000-square-foot government agency)
.Sands Capital Management (88,000-square-foot corporation)
.Universal Service Administrative Company (100,000-square-foot nonprofit)
“We pride ourselves as an organization on being design driven and people focused,” said Roger Sola-Sole, OTJ Partner. “We will look to build on our successes in 2017 and continue to provide clients with unique and innovative workplace solutions that strengthen workplace culture, communicate brand and improve wellness.”
