    Different leadership styles: Transforming Visions Into Realties


    Though there are scores of leadership styles, only the fortunate few are great leaders.  One of the features of successful leaders is that they care about the growth and success of their people.  The most effective style of leadership depends on all kind of situations and followers. The goals of a company show which leadership style fits the best. Some leaders are comfortable to handle any problem without consulting followers, whereas some leaders depend on the followers to complete the needs of the organization.     Democratic

    Also hailed as participative leadership, Democratic leadership is a type of leadership style in which people are given the chance to participate, exchange their ideas and have free discussion.  This style is required in fast changing environments as it facilitates the conversation in the best possible way. Democratic leadership increases the confidence of the employees and makes them believe as if their opinions matter.

    Transformational

    A role model for team members, showing integrity in working relationships and setting high standards, Transformational Leadership is found at all levels of the company. These leaders have a great appeal and are risk-takers and rousing. This style motivates people to find better ways of accomplishing goals and enhances productivity through communication. The followers of such leaders show commitment towards work and engage in organizational activities.

    Autocratic

    Enabling managers to make decisions without any help of others, Autocratic Leadership is perfect for all those employees who need close supervision. It is also known as Authoritarian Leadership having advantages and weaknesses unlike other styles. If the leader is the most knowledgeable person in a team, it leads to effective decisions and better group performance. This form of leadership style is mostly seen in company with fewer employees.

    Cross-cultural

    This exists where there are scores of cultures in the society. It is practiced in organizations that are operating in diverse countries having different cultures. This style involves leader that has not only leadership skills but superb talent of the cultural differences in different countries. It not aids in optimum use of the leadership team but personal knowledge that can be utilized to create a bond with them.

     Charismatic

    These leaders have a quality that entices followers and motivates people to action. They are capable of maintaining a vital level of change in the company.  Charismatic leaders are also dubbed as transformational leaders as they share scores of similarities. They have the ability of listening to the concerns of employees. Moreover, their powerful personality, sense of humility and great assistance impact the interests of the organization.
