There is no shortcut to hard work, but smart work is equally important to get ahead of others. From boosting productivity to career mentorship and development, there are countless ways employees can boost their career path and achieve their long term goals.  
    Below are five tips that can help employees achieve future career success.

    1. Plan as an expert

    Planning is the most important technique that can increase employee engagement as well as productivity without any hassle. Strategizing the work and all the related jobs will get 100% results and would waste almost no time at all. Open communication with peers is a decisive factor that helps employees to manage the work within the departmental timeline. Effective planning not only makes the task easier but saves a lot of time which could then be spent on activities that were planned to be executed later on. Planning right at the start of day helps the employee in making sure that the best and state of the art outcome is generated.

    In addition to planning and open communication, this process should also include employees initiating discussions with managers and supervisors about career growth and developing new skills. Remember that you’re in control of where you want to be within the company, so plan accordingly with individual development plans.

    2. No one is perfect, not even your boss

In this modern mechanized world, perfection is just an illusion which is never to be chased and every duty is to be nailed with same amount of enthusiasm and zeal. Today, the business pace is not what it used to be 10 years ago, so time management has become increasingly important. Multitasking will increase the chances of success as it will beat the deadlines so that maximum output is generated in minimum time. This factor is key to success without spending much energy.

    4. Attend only meaningful meetings to boost productivity

    According to research conducted by Harvard Business Review, on average, 31 hours per month are totally squandered by meetings when it comes to the normal worker. Most of the meetings are non productive and the decisions made are either not implemented or dumped afterwards. The concept of meeting is not bad itself, but higher productivity levels can be achieved if the mode is changed. Web, email and phone can also be used as a medium to conduct meetings which would save time and would accomplish the same goals more efficiently. When employees become more productive with less meetings, it can help them achieve better career growth.

    5. Take regular intervals

    An interval after every 90 minutes boosts productivity by 30%, experts say. This interval should be regular to avoid strain and burnout. It is also important to take short breaks whenever a huge task is being performed as it will maintain a steady performance level. Constant work hinders overall productivity level and causes complete disaster in the end. These intervals lead to improved results that encourage an employee to work smarter for success. Most intimidating tasks are accomplished quite easily once these intervals are practiced on a regular basis. Receptivity and a balanced mind are other advantages which are directly associated with this phenomenon.
