Grant funds job training and career services to Orange County veterans.

Working Wardrobes, an Orange County, California nonprofit that provides a full suite of career development services to help make the power of a paycheck a reality for those in need, today announced that it is the recipient of a Bank of America workforce development grant for $15,000. The grant will help fund the Working Wardrobes VetNet program – a safety net for veterans that provides job training and placement, housing referrals and other career services – which have assisted over 1,500 veteran clients in just three short years since its launch. The organization has been awarded this grant for seven consecutive years.

This month, Working Wardrobes welcomed representatives from the Bank of America Community and Volunteers Group for a check presentation ceremony at its existing offices in Costa Mesa.

However, the nonprofit is relocating its headquarters to a new 25,000 square ft. office in Irvine which will feature twice as many career training rooms and nearly double the number of computer lab stations; a much larger community room for client meetings, events, and educational workshops; and additional warehouse space to process increased clothing donations. This is critical as the organization serves more clients and continues to open more resale shops throughout Orange County, and the grant from Bank of America will be a big part of the expansion of client services.

The Working Wardrobes VetNet program provides veterans with training that is essential to finding employment, offering an array of services including case management, career readiness training, life skills and goal-setting workshops, career coaching, presentation skills, job placement, image workshops, professional wardrobe and grooming services, and much more. According to Rosen, hundreds of deserving veterans are currently waiting to receive valuable VetNet training, and the Bank of America grant will help to alleviate the wait for many of these veterans.
