Jonathan L. Sulds and Todd D. Wozniak of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will be speaking at American Conference Institute’s (ACI) Wage & Hour Claims & Class Actions Conference. The event will take place in New York City at The Andaz Wall Street, June 2 – June 3, 2016.
Sulds will be speaking on the panel regarding the most recent Department of Labor (DOL) guidance on independent contractor misclassification, June 2 at 1:45 p.m. The panel will discuss the increased issues the new guidance from DOL is causing employers and how to defend claims of independent contractor misclassification.
Wozniak will be on a panel discussing winning strategies for handling class and collective wage and hour actions, June 2 at 3:40 p.m. The panel will present the latest developments and nuances in class certification, obtaining decertification, managing hybrid claims, and defending against the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) collective actions and state law class actions.
According to ACI, the conference is the nation’s premier wage and hour forum. The two-day event will discuss various aspects of this evolving area of law including the new white-collar exemption overtime regulations, DOL guidance on independent contractor misclassification, state paid sick leave laws and scheduling laws, pay equity laws, contingent workers and joint employer liability, off-the-clock claims, wage and hour insurance, and individual and class action settlement hurdles.
