Experienced IT Advisor Offers Real-World Perspectives on Key IT Shifts Including Automation and Talent Resources in Nearshore Region
“Savvy enterprises that successfully transition IT talent into the new models will be well positioned to achieve high value for the business – faster and at lower cost – than ever before," said Steven Kirz, managing director, Pace Harmon.
Vienna, Va. and San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) May 23, 2016
Offering real-world perspectives on the future of nearshore enterprise IT, Steven Kirz, a managing director at business transformation and outsourcing advisory firm Pace Harmon, led a panel on “Talent, Innovation and Partners in the New World of Enterprise IT” at NEXUS 2016 earlier this month in San Francisco. The annual event brings together business leaders at the intersection of Latin America and Caribbean technology and innovation, with this year’s theme focusing on “Reimagining the Americas”.
As part of the panel discussion, Kirz discussed two main changes that will likely affect enterprise IT decisions over the next 12-36 months. The first involves IT moving from managing assets (hardware and large-scale software implementations) to managing business-driven applications and moreover, business solutions. The second addressed the significant reduction in the cost of enterprise IT maintenance for hardware and software and resulting budget compression that forces the enterprise to deliver resources with skills to match the then current technical needs and the ability to quickly scale to meet project demand.
“Both of these changes involve enterprises’ continued move to cloud-centric applications and environments, which greatly impact the types of skills and talent needed to manage new ways of delivering IT,” said Kirz. “Savvy enterprises that successfully transition IT talent into the new models will be well positioned to achieve high value for the business – faster and at lower cost – than ever before. Additionally, while providers risk their resources being supplanted by automation, they will likely receive more outsourced business from IT departments looking to utilize third-party resources to meet flexibility and cost-reduction demands."
Pace Harmon’s clients include Fortune 500 and select high growth middle-market companies spanning industries such as Telecommunications, Life Sciences, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Technology, and Energy. For more information, please visit paceharmon.com.
