Fundamentals of Financial Wellness for the HR Professional:
The 3 credit course focuses specifically on how the HR professional can support the organization in the topic of financial wellness. For the organization the course presents Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) compliance. Each HRCI certification has strategic objectives relating to knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues. This course explains the ERISA issues and how they can affect organizations as well as details on compliance strategies for HR professionals.
This educational session reviews several types of retirement plans without specifically endorsing any particular plan. It provides the basic information about tax liabilities related to the retirement plans as well as the regulations regarding withdrawals from the plans.
The course offers several usable tactics for the HR professional to take back to their organization to encourage contributions to company plans. It offers low to no cost options for financial education for employees that helps reduce financial distress experienced by employees, which in turn affects the organization.
