Working Wardrobes, a nonprofit that helps people overcoming difficult challenges find meaningful employment and achieve self-sufficiency, today announced the opening of the Working Wardrobes Outlet in Huntington Beach, its seventh clothing resale shop in Orange County.
Clothing sales at the nonprofit’s resale shops generate over 50% of revenues needed to fund the full roster of programs and services Working Wardrobes offers its clients, including job training, career preparation and coaching, job placement services, image workshops, professional grooming services, and professional business attire for job interviews.
“We’re coming off the heels of our 25th Anniversary, tens of thousands of clients served, and exciting new developments, including the expansion of our retail operations,” said Jerri Rosen, founder and CEO of Working Wardrobes. “As we enter into the next quarter century, we are laser focused on enhancing our corporate partnerships, increasing financial contributions, expanding our programs and services, and ultimately making the Power of a Paycheck a reality for even more clients in need.”
The nonprofit provides career services to people who are overcoming life challenges such as substance abuse, former incarceration, homelessness, catastrophic illness, traumatic financial losses, military-to-civilian transition, and underemployment. It enters its 26th year with a track record of helping over 85,000 clients throughout its history, including hundreds of veterans.
Following are exciting new developments.
. The Working Wardrobes Huntington Beach Outlet, featuring expertly selected merchandise at great prices, launches with a Grand Opening Celebration on March 23, 2016, at 4:00pm. Huntington Beach city officials will be on-hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony, and refreshments will be served. Join the celebration at 6945 Warner Avenue, Huntington Beach (at Goldenwest). . As part of The Power of a Paycheck campaign to get more clients back on their feet and back to work (http://www.workingwardrobes.org/paycheck/), the team at Working Wardrobes is asking people to share their first paycheck stories, to inspire their clients.
