Statista and Forbes Unveil Canada’s 250 Best Employers List

NEW YORK, Feb. 24, 2016 – Today, Statista, one of the leading statistics companies on the internet, announced the launch of Canada’s Best Employers list in partnership with Forbes. Canada’s five best employers are BC Hydro, Vancity, ABB, Ubisoft, and Costco. Statista conducted an extensive survey to discover Canada’s 250 best employers. The ranking indicates Canadians’ trust and passion for their domestic companies: 70% of the Top 50 were Canadian companies. Native Canadian companies also took the top two spots in the survey. The top 10 Canadian employers are shown in this infographic below.
The 250 Best Employers in Canada for 2016 were chosen across 25 industries based on an independent survey by Statista. 8,000 Canadian employees working for large firms (500+ employees) or institutions were asked if they would recommend their own employer or any other employers in their industry to a potential employee. To ensure the independence of the survey, the companies were not informed in advance. Only permanent employees took part in the survey.
The ranking not only reveals the names of the best employers, but also the employee analyses behind the survey. The most satisfied Canadian employees work in the “Construction, Oil & Gas Operations, Mining and Chemicals” industry. Despite the physical and sometimes dangerous nature of this industry, it is still considered attractive for employees.
