Paycor Appoints Ed Woodson as Senior Vice President and General Counsel Experienced Technology and Intellectual Property Attorney to Manage Thriving HR Technology Company’s Legal Activities
    Press Releases
Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) February 18, 2016

Paycor, which provides 30,000 companies with intuitive, cloud-based onboarding, applicant tracking, HR, payroll and timekeeping software, today announced the appointment of Ed Woodson as senior vice president and general counsel. An experienced intellectual property attorney, Woodson will be responsible for leading the organization’s legal, corporate secretary and compliance activities.

“Ed brings a wealth of experience to his role as Paycor’s general counsel, having provided a broad spectrum of legal oversight to technology companies in highly regulated industries throughout his career,” said Bob Coughlin, CEO. “His expertise is a great match for our fast-paced, fast-growing SaaS company.”

With nearly 20 years of corporate legal experience, Woodson joins Paycor from Grable Martin Fulton PLLC, a provider of outsourced legal advisor and general counsel services, where he provided overflow assistance for clients’ legal departments and performed business, corporate, merger and acquisition, and technology legal services. Before joining the outsourcing firm, Woodson served as the general counsel and executive vice president for Parago, which was acquired in 2014 by Blackhawk Network. During his 15-year tenure at Parago, he supported many significant domestic and international acquisitions, in addition to managing all procurement, technology and client-facing contracts. He also played an integral role in overseeing Parago’s intellectual property portfolio, including developing and maintaining the company’s invention disclosure process.

Prior to his position at Parago, Woodson was an intellectual property associate attorney at the full-service international law firm Locke Lorde LLP. A licensed patent attorney, he earned his juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia’s School of Law and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

“I am thrilled to join a high-growth, technology-driven company like Paycor,” stated Woodson. “Paycor continues to expand its innovation, client base and staff, and I look forward to contributing to its success as such an exciting stage of development.”
