BOULDER, CO (PRWEB) FEBRUARY 22, 2016
RefactorU is proud and honored to announce that its Web Development Bootcamp has been approved by the Colorado State Approving Agency for Veterans Education & Training. Students eligible for the The Post-9/11 GI Bill, Montgomery GI Bill (Active Duty/Selected Reserve), Reserve Educational Assistance Program, Veterans Educational Assistance Program, and Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program may be eligible to apply those benefits to RefactorU's Web Application Development Bootcamp.
For military veterans and family members, career opportunities are wide open in the web technology industry. Current Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 27 percent employment growth for web developers by 2024. According to 2014 statistics, web developers made a median salary of $63,490.
Sean Daken, RefactorU’s Founder and CEO commented, "We are thrilled that it's now easier than ever for veterans and military families to accelerate their careers and transform their lives with RefactorU and the GI Bill."
According to Fernando Paredes; an Army veteran, iOS/Android developer at Seattle-based Shiftboard, and board member of Operation Code, “Vets are really an underrepresented community (in the tech field), just like there are very few minorities.” He thinks that the tech field “should be inclusive. People should be able to get into it without having connections or having to drop $30,000 [on a college education] to do this.”
With the GI Bill, veterans and military families are eligible to get a up to 100% of any vocational training program reimbursed.
RefactorU's Web Development Bootcamp is a 10-week, full-time program headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. RefactorU teaches full-stack web application development skills using the fastest growing and most relevant languages, frameworks, and tools. Median starting salaries for RefactorU's graduates are upwards of $70,000 per year, with 96% of graduates finding employment in the field within 12 weeks of graduation.
