The concept of Organizational Health has been around for a while now – with many organisations using it to take more decisive action on those conventionally hard to quantify issues - like Capabilities, Accountability and Motivation.

McKinsey & Co, the global management consultancy firm, has used the Organizational Health Index (OHI) for the last 10 years to help many large companies, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations to see how they compare with the healthiest organizations in the world.

OHI shows them what it takes to acquire a sustainable performance edge — to refine the capabilities and characteristics that endure through and beyond economic cycles.

This is all well and good for large global organisations, but increasingly, small- and medium-sized organizations are playing a crucial role in the global economy.  The leaders of those organisations, be they SMEs or third sector organizations, must be empowered to have strategic, fact-based discussions about their organizations and their effectiveness.

McKinsey are hoping to fast-track this by offering part of their core OHI product in a free, streamlined, self-serve, easy-to-use platform – called myOHI. Check it out below.
