Set a Date
Your best way to win the battle is to set a date for everyone to come over. Typically, a Saturday or a Sunday is best. You may find a Sunday afternoon offers the best possibility of getting a top turn out as family obligations tend to ease at about that time.
Invite people to stop by at noon and stay until evening. Provide snacks for midday with the promise to order pizza to close out the day at 6 p.m. The greater the numbers, the more likely you’ll get everything done.

Bring Your Own Boxes
If you don’t have enough supplies on hand, you can ask friends to bring their own boxes. Typically, this will involve them going through their garage, attic and other storage areas to see what they have.
You can also encourage your friends to visit various proprietors to acquire free boxes. Big box retailers, hardware stores, grocers, warehouse clubs, and department stores are places to consider. You might also ask them to bring their own tape, filling material and labels.
Assign Them to Rooms
Divide your house into sections and assign people to different rooms and areas. For instance, your son’s room might be handled by two or three people with your son on hand to help out. Do likewise with your daughter’s room.
For rooms with heavier materials, such as tools, tool boxes, and power equipment, assign only people who can handle the heavier weights. For people who know how to handle fragile goods, such as your china set, assign them with that task. Every room should have people at work with the tools on hand to get the work done. That means plenty of boxes, paper or bubble wrap, tape and labels.
Establish a Collection Center
With so many boxes to pack and arrange, you need a central point for collecting everything. Ideally, you’ll have a room on the main floor where you can begin to collect, arrange and stack the boxes.
A first floor location is ideal, particularly one nearest the front door or whichever door the moving company people will use states the North American Moving Company. The idea here is to get the movers in, out and allow you to finish cleaning the house before you move. Your friends will understand and will lend a hand.
Check In Often
Don’t allow chance to determine how the work gets done. You need to inspect the work and ensure that it is done properly.
You and your spouse should circulate thorough each room to help out, answer questions, and encourage the workers. Keep at this for three, four or five hours and you may have the lion’s share of the work done.
Throw a Party
Once the packing party nears an end, contact the pizza company and have a generous number of pies delivered to your home. Choose a variety of pizzas, garlic knots, bread sticks and drinks to please your helpers. As people clean up, encourage them to join in on the festivities and enjoy what you have served. That’s the perfect thanks to provide for work well done.
A packing party is a doable project that can be done on a weekend afternoon or conducted over several nights through the week. A combination of moving packing parties will help you get the job done and you well on your way to completing your big move.
